UUM Foundation Studies in Management Programme comprises of two (2) regular semesters and one (1) short semester within one academic year. The system implemented is as stated below:

The admission requirements into the UUM Foundation Studies in Management Programme are as follow:

a)  An Malaysian Citizen

b)  SPM qualifications with a minimum grade of B+ in the Bahasa Inggeris and an A- grade for at least five (5) of the following subjects:

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Foundation Studies in Management Programme is an intensive year-long programme designed to prepare potential students for a degree in the field of study of their choice at UUM. The holistic design of the syllabi not only imparts the skills and experiences needed for success at university but it also focuses on polishing the soft skills required for students to excel beyond the classroom physical setting.

The successful completion of the year-long foundation programme in accordance to the required standard, would lead students to secure a place in a variety of UUM Bachelor Degree Programmes. The English Language and study skills complement the subject specific modules to better equip the students for university level education.

The Foundation Studies Programme offered by the Centre for Foundation Studies in Management at UUM is comprehensive and recognised by Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia as well as the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

There are 18 courses offered in this programme. The duration of studies and total credit hours are as follows:

The general academic requirements for admission into UUM Foundation Studies in Management Programme are:

Secondary Certificate/Higher Certificate from Government School (at least 10 to 11 years of study from primary to secondary level)

OR

Any other certificates that are recognised by the Senate of the University as equivalent to the above.

AND

Pass the interview.

The University will determine the merit and suitability of the international applicant's academic grades received from their home country.

If deemed necessary, applicants may also be required to attend an interview conducted by the Centre for Foundation Studies in Management, UUM.

Applicants should note that normally there are more applications than places available at the University. The fulfilment of the minimum entrance requirements alone does not guarantee admission into the University.
